Review: YSL Black Opium Gift Set

I would run the other side and never buy products if they cost more than £50 or around $70 and YSL products are usually a bit over pricey so I prefer staying away. But last week, I saw this gift bag from YSL and knew I had to get it.
YSL Black Opium Gift set (£94.66 or $146)
(This is not the actual price of the product now)
Black Opium Perfume: This was the star of this set. Starting with the packaging ,the bottle looks a lot like the Opium perfume but it's black, it's glittery and it's 'sexy'. The previous opium is like the plain jane version of this bottle. It smells better than the previous opium perfume in my opinion. The smell has floral tones, it smells a bit Jasmine-y (which is one of my favourite scents) with a light touch of black coffee scent, vanilla and pink blossom, which dominates the smell. It is not too heavy or sharp which makes it perfect for either night/day time. It stays on for long time and smells light but sexy.
Conclusion: I will 100% recommend this

MVEFC reformulated Mascara (Mini): The original packaging is more appealing with a gold shimmer to it but this set has mini trial version of the MVEFC which stands for Mascara Volume Effect Faux Cils. This was the remastered, reformulated formula of their original MVEFC. The brush is the same old fashioned one but it claims to lengthening, extremely voluminous and curling. After applying, I did notice my lashes were voluminous but there was no difference in the length as it claimed. The original MVEFC mascara is quite lengthening but it dries out quickly. The reformulated mascara has nourishing oil which hydrates your lashes
Conclusion: I would recommend this if you have thin lashes but if you are looking for lengthening your lashes, MVEFC Babydoll will work better for you

Dessin Du Regard Eye Pencil: This pencil is super pigmented. These usually come with a smudging sponge on one end and a sharpener on other but this was a mini version. This was in velvet black and I was so happy to see to see it has no blue or green undertones at all. I usually have a hard time with eye pencils as they tend to fade away or just smudge around but this one is different. YSL nailed it with this one as it stays put for long with very little fading. The pencil is hard if you touch it but it glides on perfectly on the lash line or water line. They don't dry out quickly as most pencils do. They stay creamy for about 15-20 minutes after application which makes it easy to set it
Conclusion: I would recommend it if the price tag is not a problem for you and if it is I would recommend Milani Eyeyliner pencil ($3.99 or £3.19 which has a great consistency, stays on for long and doesn't smudge or you should get Rimmel London Scandal Eyes Waterproof Kohl Eyeliner, ($3.99 or £4which too is smudge proof and water proof

And the set comes with a cute and shiny make up pouch which is an added bonus.

Let me know if you have tried any of these products. And what are some of your favourite perfume, liner and mascaras?
